Troubleshooting
Fixes for the most common Ase2UE import problems.
Aseprite path errors
If imports fail immediately with an export error, the Aseprite executable path is usually wrong or missing. Re-check it in Project Settings under the Ase2UE plugin section.
Flipbooks not importing
If flipbooks do not appear after import, work through these checks:
- Confirm your animations are tagged in Aseprite — untagged frames do not become flipbooks
- Make sure flipbook output is enabled in the source asset import settings
- Reimport the source asset after tagging or retiming animations
See Importing flipbooks for the full flipbook workflow.
How do I reimport an Aseprite file
Right click the Ase2 source asset and choose Reimport, or open it and click Reimport. All derived sprites, flipbooks, and slices regenerate from the latest source file.
Slices not appearing
If slices are missing, confirm they are named in Aseprite and that slice output is enabled. Unnamed slices are skipped.
